Duc Trung Vo

Dr Trung Vo

Co-founder – Chief Executive Officer

Dr Vo has spent over 10 years leading many R&D and advanced technology projects across various industries, including Defence, Fintech, Aritech, Telecommunication, Retailer and Food. Trung co-founded Clever Agriculture/Clever Mushroom in 2020 where he blends his technical knowledge, customer experience focus, people-oriented leadership and strategic vision clarity. His philosophy lies in creating high-performance digitally-enabled businesses with great customer-centric culture. Currently, Trung oversees all internal and external functions of Clever Mushroom. 

Trung obtained the Bachelor of Engineering degree (Honours 1), major in Electrical and Computer Systems from Monash University in 2007 and Ph.D. degree in Physics from the University of Sydney in 2011. Dr Vo published over 30 journal articles (including papers in Nature) and over 60 peer-reviewed conference papers with over 2000 citations (h-index is 19). Trung received many awards, including the most Outstanding PhD thesis, IEEE Outstanding Engineering Achievement, Australian Department of Defence Outstanding Early Career Achievement, Australian Defence Strategic Research Investment Fellowship, Fulbright Scholarship (runner-up), and Outstanding Scholastic Achievement and Excellence.

 

Queen Nguyen

Dr Queen Nguyen

Co-founder – Chief Technology Officer

At Clever Mushroom, Dr Queen leads operations and strategic direction with full responsibility for bottom-line factors, including team management, project planning, outsourcing planning, and product development process. She directs all operations for production, deployment, maintenance and customer services for Clever Mushroom. She leads organizational structure and resources both in Australia and in Vietnam. She also participates in research and development of innovative Internet of Things (IoT) and data-driven technologies for Clever Mushroom’s products.

Dr Queen has a strong academic background in Computer Science with two master degrees and specialize in Internet of Things and machine learning. She won various awards during her PhD at Macquarie University. Her achievements gave birth to Clever Mushroom and laid a foundation to form a dynamic team with a diverse range of talents and experts.

Prof. Michael Sheng

Technical Advisor

Prof. Michael Sheng is a full Professor and Head of School of Computing at Macquarie University. Before moving to Macquarie, Michael spent 10 years at School of Computer Science, the University of Adelaide, serving in senior leadership roles such as Acting Head of School and Deputy Head of School. Michael holds a PhD degree in computer science from the University of New South Wales and did his post-doc as a research scientist at CSIRO ICT Centre. From 1999 to 2001, Michael also worked at UNSW as a visiting research fellow. Prior to that, he spent 6 years as a senior software engineer in industries.

Prof. Sheng has more than 380 publications as edited books and proceedings, refereed book chapters, and refereed technical papers in journals and conferences. His research interests include Web of Things, Internet of Things, Big Data Analytics, Web Science, Service-oriented Computing, Pervasive Computing, and Sensor Networks. He is ranked by Microsoft Academic as one of the Most Impactful Authors in Services Computing (ranked Top 5 all time worldwide) and in Web of Things (ranked Top 20 all time). He is the recipient of the AMiner Most Influential Scholar Award on IoT (2019), ARC Future Fellowship (2014), Chris Wallace Award for Outstanding Research Contribution (2012), and Microsoft Research Fellowship (2003). Prof. Sheng is a member of the IEEE and the ACM.

Adelaide University

Dr Wei Zhang

Artificial Intelligence R&D Partner

Dr Wei Zhang currently works as a Lecturer at the School of Computer Science, The University of Adelaide. She is also an Honorary lecturer at School of Computing, Macquarie University. Before moving to Adelaide, Wei was postdoctoral researcher at Macquarie University. She holds a PhD degree in computer science from The University of Adelaide. Prior to that, she had six years industry experiences fulfilled different roles.

Dr Wei Zhang’s research interests include text mining, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, Information Retrieval, and Internet of Things. She has more than 100 publications as edited books and proceedings, refereed book chapters, and refereed technical papers in journals and conferences including ACM CSUR, IEEE COMST, ACM TIST, ACM TOIT, ACM TOSN, WWWJ, TBD, CACM, ACL, ACM SIGIR, WWW, EDBT, CIKM, ECCV, ICSOC and CAiSE. Her PhD thesis had been published by Springer as a monograph. She is also active in academic community services for more than 30 conferences and journals in Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Information Retrieval and Internet of Things. Dr Wei Zhang is the ARC Industry Early Career Research Fellow 2023-2026. She is the member of ACM and IEEE.
